Sencha Green Tea, Organic (Loose Leaf)
Sencha Green Tea, Organic (Loose Leaf)
For several weeks in early spring, farmers in the Uji district, traditional center of the Japanese tea industry, gather the first flush of new buds and leaves for processing into sencha, the highest grade of Japanese tea for export. The bud and top two leaves are cut at the peak of flavor. Our green tea leaves are then steamed, heat dried and immediately packed to seal in the fresh flavor and aroma. Try our Haiku® Organic Japanese Sencha Green Tea and you will understand why true connoisseurs of Japanese green tea will drink nothing else.
Prepare Hot: Bring one cup of cold water to a boil. Steep the desired amount of tea for five minutes or until the desired strength is achieved. Brew as much or as little as you like with our convenient resealable bag.
Prepare Cold*: Pour one cup of cold water over tea leaves and steep in the refrigerator overnight. Cold brewing reduces caffeine content and leaves a smooth, less bitter aftertaste.
* When prepare cold, caffeine content and bitterness are both reduced.
