Great
Eastern Sun originally came into being in 1981 as
the
sales and distribution arm of the American Miso Company,
the first American manufacturer of traditional Japanese
miso. We remain the exclusive marketer, under our Miso
Master® brand, for AMC products in North America. |

In addition, Great Eastern Sun imports organic and premium quality,
traditional products from the Mitoku Company in Japan.
These are packaged in our production department under
Emerald Cove and Emperor's Kitchen labels.
Over the years we at Great Eastern Sun
have widened our perspective by developing other product
lines. Our first was Sweet Cloud® Organic Brown
Rice and Organic Barley Malt Syrup Sweeteners.
Shortly thereafter we began to convert the premium Japanese
tea we purchased from Mitoku into our Haiku®
Organic Twig (Kukicha), Green (Sencha), and
Roasted Green (Hojicha) Teabags. We next
produced One World® Organic English Breakfast,
Earl Grey,, Darjeeling Thunder
Bolt, and Ceylon Highland Teabags.
Then came Sweet Cloud® Organic
Raw Cane Sugar. |
|
In late 1995 we turned a portion of our
warehouse into a food processing facility, producing
our first offerings from the GES experimental kitchen.
Emerald Cove® Sesame Hijiki, Ginger Arame,
and Spicy Kombu Sea Vegetable Salads!
Whether it be salt from Baja California
and France, sugar from Paraguay and Brazil, tea from
India, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania, sea vegetables from
Japan, brown rice syrup from Belgium, or spearmint from
Morocco, Great Eastern Sun is committed to combing
the four quarters of the globe to bring you the finest
organic food this planet has to offer, processed with
the care and quality you have come to expect from GES. |
