HAIKU® ORGANIC JAPANESE TEAS RECIPES

These delightfully refreshing tea recipes include traditional brewing methods for hot tea, as well as innovative new ways of creating iced drinks that are simple, delicious, and sure to make a splash!

Haiku® Organic Original Sencha Green Tea

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a full boil. Immediately remove from heat and let sit for a minute. Pour over the tea, using one cup of water per teabag. Allow to steep for no more than 1-2 minutes or tea may become bitter.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 4 teabags. Allow to steep for 2 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
For a new twist, try this iced tea and fruit juice combination. To brew, bring 7 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and add 4 teabags. Cover steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove teabags and chill for at least ½ hour. Then pour into a serving pitcher, add 1 cup organic pear juice, stir well, and serve. MAKES ½ GALLON.

Haiku® Organic Original Hojicha Roasted Green Tea

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a full boil. Pour over the tea, using one cup of water per teabag or 4 cups water per 4 teabags (a teapot). Allow to steep for 2-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 4 teabags. Allow to steep for 5 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
For a delicious iced tea and fruit juice drink, bring 7 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and add 4 teabags. Cover steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove teabags and chill for at least ½ hour. Then pour into a serving pitcher, add 1 cup organic pineapple-coconut juice, stir well, and serve. MAKES ½ GALLON.

Haiku® Organic Original Kujicha Twig Tea

To prepare hot, add 1 teabag per cup of water, or 4 teabags to 1 quart (a teapot) of cold water. Bring to a boil, and simmer, uncovered, for 3-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, add 4 teabags to 4 cups cold water, bring to a boil, and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
To make a delicious iced tea and fruit juice cooler, bring 7 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and add 5 teabags. Cover steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove teabags and chill for at least ½ hour. Then pour into a serving pitcher, add 1 cup organic apple juice, stir well, and serve. MAKES ½ GALLON.

One World® Organic English Breakfast Tea

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a boil, using one cup per teabag. Pour over tea into a warmed ceramic or glass teapot. Steep 3-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 6 teabags. Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
For a new taste treat,
bring 7 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and add 4 teabags. Cover and steep for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove teabags and chill for at least ½ hour. Then pour into a serving pitcher, add 1 cup organic apricot nectar or ginger ale, stir well, and serve. MAKES ½ GALLON.

One World® Organic Earl Grey Tea

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a boil, using one cup per teabag. Pour over tea into a warmed ceramic or glass teapot. Steep 3-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 6 teabags. Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
For iced tea cooler, bring 7 cups water to a boil, remove from heat and add 4 teabags. Cover and steep for 5 to 6 minutes. Remove teabags and chill for at least ½ hour. Then pour into a serving pitcher, add 1 cup organic cranberry juice, stir well, and serve. MAKES ½ GALLON.

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a boil, using one cup per teabag. Pour over tea into a warmed ceramic or glass teapot. Steep 3-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 6 teabags. Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.

To prepare hot, bring cold water to a boil, using one cup per teabag. Pour over tea into a warmed ceramic or glass teapot. Steep 3-5 minutes. Remove teabags and serve.
For iced tea, bring 4 cups water to a boil, and pour over 6 teabags. Allow to steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove teabags and sweeten, if desired. Stir well, chill for at least ½ hour, pour into serving pitcher, add ice and cold water to make 2 quarts, and serve.
